The deadline for applications has now been extended until Monday 28 November 2022. Please contact Analysis.Function@ons.gov.uk for an application form.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for new members to join the Analysis Function People Board (AFPB) Shadow Board. The AFPB is a cross-government board of senior leaders that concentrates on developing the skills and capability of all analysts. It aims to ensure that we have the right people, in the right place, with the right skills to produce better analysis for better outcomes.

The Shadow Board exists to ensure that the board’s decisions are representative of the thousands of analysts they speak for. It supports fair, transparent, and inclusive decision-making across the Function, including by offering meaningful challenge if necessary. With exposure to senior leaders and scope to influence cross-government decision-making, joining the Shadow Board is a fantastic developmental opportunity.

Positions are open to all analysts from Administrative Officer (AO) grade to Grade 6. The time commitment is an average of 4 hours per quarter. You can find out more about what it’s like to be on the Board by reading Co-Chair Harry Ravi’s blog.
