About this event

This Global Network Webinar welcomes Benjamin Santos (Statistics Canada), Dave Buckley (OpenMined), Matjaz Jug (CBS Netherlands), Raphaël de Fondeville (Swiss Federal Statistical Office) who will speak about “Privacy-Enhancing Technologies and Artificial Intelligence”.
National Statistical Offices (NSO) face growing pressure to share and link data across organizational and jurisdictional boundaries, whilst navigating legal frameworks and maintaining public trust. Privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) offer a way forward: unlocking statistical analysis and collaboration without exposing underlying data.
Since 2019, the UN PET Lab has brought together NSOs, researchers, and technology providers to test PETs in the real world – from cross-border federated learning to secure linkage of international trade statistics.
At this event, the experts from the UN PET Lab community of practice will present the role of PETs in the context of responsible AI governance, showcase practical examples of use cases and technologies, and explain how to get involved and access support from the PET Lab community.
