About this event
This Global Network Webinar welcomes Corinne Prost and Conrad Thiounn from the French Office for National Statistics (INSEE France) who will speak about “Implementing AI at INSEE: Navigating Between Promise and Complexity”.
According to the latest INSEE findings, 45% of staff say they use artificial intelligence (AI) in their work. However, of these, only 19% use the AI tool provided by INSEE; the rest use a consumer-grade tool available online. The majority of these AI users are convinced of its value: 78% believe that AI has a positive impact on their professional activities.
While these results are very positive for INSEE, they nevertheless raise complex challenges of various kinds. This is a rapidly spreading innovation that is being adopted by staff, partly via consumer-grade tools. However, concerns about security, relating to data and publication confidentiality, must be considered; it is necessary to guide usage and, ideally, capitalise on individual innovations.
At the same time, larger-scale investments are raising questions about funding. To address these cross-cutting challenges, INSEE has established a strategic-level AI committee to promote and oversee the various innovations initiated within the organization. This webinar will provide an update on the current status of these experiments.
