About this event
How many nurses and midwives on the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Register are currently working in practice, and why does this matter for workforce planning?
Join Professor Iain Atherton for this Research Excellence Series online talk. Iain is Professor of Nursing and Data Science at Edinburgh Napier University and Co-Director of the Scottish Centre for Administrative Data Research (SCADR), part of Administrative Data Research (ADR) Scotland.
Drawing on his research from an ADR UK-funded data linkage project, Iain will share insights from linking the Nursing and Midwifery Council Register with Census 2021 data. The findings demonstrate how linked data can provide valuable evidence to support workforce planning and policy development.
The linked dataset used in this research is also available to accredited researchers through the Office for National Statistics’ Secure Research Service (SRS).
