Welsh Government are advertising statistics university student placements, to begin in summer 2024. The successful applicants will spend a year on placement. There are multiple posts available.
The successful candidates will:
- obtain a wide experience of statistical work
- learn about the environment in which data are managed and statistics are produced
- work closely with and be mentored by experienced statistical staff
- have access to specific and on-the-job training — for example, this includes developing IT skills such as MS-Excel, SQL, R, and SAS
Who this opportunity is for
This scheme is only open to:
- undergraduate students currently in their second year of study, looking to undertake a year-long placement commencing Summer 2024 before returning to complete their degree
- postgraduate students who have a year-long placement built into their postgraduate degree scheme which they are looking to undertake Summer 2024 to Summer 2025
