Devolution Learning Week: The economic and fiscal outlook for the UK and devolved nations

The period since the Russian invasion of Ukraine has been another challenging period for the UK economy, as is has been for other developed countries, compounding the aftermath of the COVID-19 period and much else. Different parts of the UK are affected to different extents and in different ways at different times. This seminar will provide an opportunity to hear from three leading independent thinkers about the economic and fiscal prospects for the UK and each devolved nation:

  • Jagjit Chadha Director of the National Institute for Economic and Social Research — Jagjit will provide an overview of economic prospects
  • Paul Johnson, Director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies — Paul will provide an overview of fiscal prospects
  • Marie Spowage, Director of the Fraser of Allander Institute — Marie will provide an overview of both economic and fiscal prospects.
