Data Science Community Meet-up: Everything but the data

Data has been at the forefront of many civil servants’ minds in 2023. Both One Big Thing and DataConnect will put data even further into the spotlight in September. But what more do you need for a successful data science project? In October the Government Data Science Community will host an online session on:

• product and project management
• project delivery
• data science industrialisation

Everyone is welcome to attend, whether you are a data scientist who wants a better understanding how your models are put into practice, or a project manager looking to move into the data science space.

The speakers for this session include:

• Mark Houghton and Melissa Champion (HMRC) — Mark and Melissa will talk about collecting business requirements for data science projects
• Lee Morgan (NHS) — Lee will talk about being the product owner of ratings and reviews on the NHS website
• Matthew Peet and Cameron Salter (HMRC) — Matthew and Cameron will talk about data science industrialisation
