Submitting content to the Analysis Function Newsletter
What is the Analysis Function Newsletter?
AF News is published monthly, usually on the first Tuesday of the month.
It is an opportunity to promote work, new learning, products and content, such as events, articles, and blogs. Our audience includes government analysts and anyone else interested in government analysis, including members of the public.
How to submit
We’d love to share what’s happening in your departments and professions with over 17,000 analysts working across government and beyond.
Please read our guidance thoroughly and use the submission form.
Please note we may edit your content to fit or use the Analysis Function website to accommodate longer content where appropriate.
By submitting the form, you agree we reserve the right to edit and publish your content in our communication channels including but not limited to AF News and our website.
Our Newsletter is also shared through the LinkedIn newsletter platform. Therefore, all content submitted should be suitable for publication in the public domain.

- news and announcements
- learning and development opportunities
- important events
- key vacancies

Submission top tips
- Contributions should be 150 words max, keeping the information succinct and high-level. We accept bullet points as well if this is easier for you.
- Use plain English (the com is a handy tool).
- Consider whether your content is relevant to our audience and think about what you want the reader to think, feel, or do after reading your contribution (for example, clicking on a link to online content, volunteering for an opportunity, or contributing to some research).
- Include your contact details or ‘call to action’ for the reader.
- Spell out abbreviations and acronyms in the first instance and provide some context you think might be useful for people who might not know anything about your team or the work.
- If you have more detailed content (longer than 150 words), please submit a request to publish content on our website. Alternatively, if your content has already been published online, please provide a link to it in your answer to Question 6.
- You can use our checklist for publishing on the AF website to make sure your content meets accessibility standards and follow our style guide.
