Health and care statistics

The United Kingdom Health Statistics Steering Group (UKHSSG), formerly the English Health Statistics Steering Group (EHSSG), was formed following a systematic review of health and care statistics by the Office for Statistics Regulation (OSR).

The review found that it was not always possible to get coherent, accessible information about health and care statistics. The OSR gave the UKHSSG the responsibility to improve this. Information of our aims can be found in the UKHSSG workplan for 2022 to 2027.

We have set up groups which cover areas of the health and care statistics system. The groups include members from the main producers of official health statistics to work towards the UKHSSG workplan.

The work plan for this group will be published shortly.
