Launching the Evaluation Capability Survey 2023
Evaluation is key to understanding and improving the work we do across government, as well as demonstrating accountability and transparency to our stakeholders, including the public. It enables us to understand what works and learn from our successes, to demonstrate accountability to citizens, and to adapt our plans in real time to ensure we meet our goals.
Head of the Analysis Function and National Statistician, Sir Ian Diamond would like all civil servants involved with evaluation to complete this important survey which aims to assess levels of evaluation capability across government.
“Evaluation is an area that we all play a part in, from analysis to policy to project delivery and many other areas. To be able to evaluate our work effectively and learn from previous evaluations, it is vital that we have the right skills and knowledge. We are launching the Cross-government Evaluation Capability Survey, to help understand if we have the right skills and knowledge, and to support us to build on these.”
Results from the survey will support planning and service development across government, by providing data on the capabilities and capacities across government and what further support is needed. It will also provide organisations with key insights on the state of evaluation in their areas and allow you the chance to shape the work on further support required.
Complete the Evaluation Capability Survey 2023 by 10 July 2023 to contribute.
