Don’t forget your AiG Awards nominations

Nominations for the 5th annual Analysis in Government Awards close at 23:59 on Friday 1 November 2024.

The awards are the perfect opportunity to recognise, celebrate, and reward the exceptional work being undertaken across the Analysis Function.

Previous winners told us, “Winning an AiG Award was a wonderful validation of a project we believe in deeply but rarely makes priorities or headlines,” and “gave me the confidence to engage with really ambitious new challenges and make a real mark on my department!”

There are lots of different ways to recognise a team or individual that has made a real difference and celebrate those people who deserve an award for their achievements.

6 boxes, each with the 6 AiG awards categories written in them: "collaboration, rising star, communication, impact, inclusion, and innovative methods"We have six award categories:
  • Professor Sir Ian Diamond ‘Rising Star’ Award
  • Collaboration
  • Communication
  • Impact
  • Inclusion
  • Innovative Methods

Steven from HMRC, and 4th AiG Awards winner told us “If you’re not sure about nominating your colleagues/team, just give it a go and show them how much you appreciate them, it’s great for morale and motivation!”

You can read more about the categories on our Awards hub page or nominate now using our quick and simple nomination form

Our panel of esteemed judges, including Sir Ian Diamond, will announce the winners, runners up and highly commended entries in January 2025.

Get involved

Judge alongside Sir Ian Diamond

Although many senior leaders are already taking part, we want to make sure that everyone has the chance to get involved in the next AiG Awards and ensure that analysis in your and other departments is recognised at the highest level of government.

This is your opportunity to help with the important process of judging.

This year, as we face many changes and challenges in the world of analysis, we need your help to deliver the best possible event – if you’re a Deputy Director or above, email Analysis.Function@ons.gov.uk to find out more.

Become a sifter

The Analysis in Government Awards could not happen without sifters. Volunteering helps you to better understand what good analysis looks like and is good experience for sifting job applications.

If you’d like to volunteer to help the sift during November, email Analysis.Function@ons.gov.uk and we’ll provide further information.
