GSS theme workplans
One of the pillars of the Government Statistical Service (GSS) Vision: Strength in Numbers, is Coordination, Cooperation and Leadership – this includes an objective to improve cross-GSS topic prioritisation and collaboration. As a statistical community, we are strongest when we work together, recognising and respecting the individual expertise and remits of departments and agencies, whilst working collaboratively across boundaries to maximise the delivery and impact of statistics.
Theme-based coordination compliments GSS work focused on the cross-cutting topics of user engagement, granular statistics, administrative data, and UK coherence, as priorities identified through the Statistics Assembly 2025. These initiatives support to ensure frequent collaboration across the GSS, toward producing a high-quality evidence base of statistics and insights which meet users’ needs.
GSS work plans have been developed where themes cross organisational boundaries, outlining publications and developments for the year ahead. Workplans will be updated annually.
