Office for Statistics Regulation (OSR) seminar: Communicating uncertainty in analysis

Date
27th September 2022 12:15 pm to 1:00 pm
Venue
Online

The Office for Statistics Regulation (OSR) has launched a series of seminars for analysts, which share insights from our regulatory work, promoting our Code of Practice and important areas of focus that support all types of analysis across government.

Our third seminar will take place on Tuesday 27 September and is called ‘Communicating uncertainty in analysis’. Describing, quantifying, and visualising uncertainty can present many complex challenges for producers of analysis. But successfully communicating uncertainty is an important part of ensuring analysis is used appropriately. This seminar will support analysts to improve the way they communicate uncertainty by highlighting common challenges and giving examples of good practice.

We have another great line-up of speakers for this seminar. There will be speakers from OSR and the Office for National Statistics (ONS). Professor Sir David Spiegelhalter from the Winton Centre for Risk and Evidence Communication Centre will also be speaking at the event.
