In the next ‘Science and Society’ webinar, Dr. Ben Kasstan-Dabush, Assistant Professor in Global Health and Development at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, will be speaking to Dr. Carrie Heitmeyer, Head of Social Science at GO-Science, about vaccine uptake among Orthodox Jewish communities and the factors that shape vaccination decisions.
Drawing on his research on HPV vaccination, Ben will discuss how low uptake is often framed through the lens of religious beliefs, while broader issues such as vaccine safety concerns and healthcare access may also play an important role. He will also explore opportunities for closer alignment between health and education services.
There will be an opportunity to ask questions in the Q&A at the end of the session.
