Volunteering
Did you know that civil servants are typically entitled to a minimum of three special paid leave days each year to volunteer for causes they are passionate about?
Volunteering can be a useful way to develop skills that can help you progress your career, while helping out a good cause at the same time. Read more about volunteering in the Civil Service

Organise your own volunteering
If you cannot find a scheme to volunteer with you can organise your own analytical volunteering.
Reach out to places you would be interested in working with. These could be charities, schools, universities or local community groups.
Lots of places may need help in analytical areas. But you may also find experience in other areas that will help your career progression, such as experience of managing a project or public speaking.
Make sure to read up on safeguarding information if you organise your own volunteering.
